We are excited to share that we are rolling out keyless entry across our managed properties. This system has proven to be highly effective for security, operations, maintenance coordination, and leasing efficiency, and we strongly recommend it for all homes.

Below is an overview of how keyless entry works and the benefits to you as the owner.

Why We Are Moving to Keyless Entry

For Current Tenants

No physical keys required for the front door. Tenants are issued a permanent, unique access code.
Tenants can generate temporary or one-time access codes for approved guests or vendors.
We can see all issued codes and usage, which helps identify potential unauthorized occupants.
Enables maintenance access without tenants missing work, including routine services such as air-filter changes every other month.
Prevents lockouts—no lost keys or after-hours emergency calls.
No key returns needed at move-out—access is removed instantly on lease end.

For Maintenance & Operations

Eliminates the need for locksmith rekeys between tenants, which we recommend for liability reasons.
In eviction or non-cooperative move-out scenarios, we simply disable access codes—the former tenant has no ability to re-enter the home.
We can monitor battery life, access history, and system status in real time.
Fewer physical keys to manage, track, and replace.

For Prospective Tenants & Showings

Fully integrates with our self-showing process.
Prospective tenants must:
Upload a government-issued ID
Complete a live selfie verification
They receive a single-use access code only, valid for their scheduled showing.
Access can also be granted via Bluetooth, similar to how Opendoor conducts open houses.
Doors auto-lock, preventing squatters, copied keys, or lockbox tampering.
Access is app-based—no physical keys or lockboxes to remove or misuse.

Additional Use Cases

Commonly used in short-term and vacation rentals, allowing secure access while tenants are traveling.
Provides full audit visibility for liability protection and compliance.

Cost & Installation Details

Standard installation (recommended):$150.00 total
Includes the keyless door handle and installation
You retain the lock if you ever end management
If you prefer a different model:You may order your preferred lock and ship it to the property or our office
Installation cost: $75.00 (includes travel)
Lock must be a passage door handle (no keyed entry)
These locks may come with physical keys.
We will not provide keys to tenants.
We can either mail a key to you or discard it—your preference.
Optional fully keyless setup:Garage door keypad available for $65.00

Payment can be made easily via an owner contribution in your portal.

If You Choose to Opt Out

If you prefer not to install keyless entry, we will continue to use a secure lockbox system with rotating codes after each use and a single master code controlled by our office.

We believe keyless entry significantly improves security, reduces costs over time, streamlines maintenance, and protects both owners and tenants.
